Method of multipath signal reception

The method involves calculating the energy of a number of received signals during a period in which the channel is stable. An average of this energy is determined and the received signals are weighted using the average energy value. The weighted signals are processed to restore the received data. Preferably, the peak values of the signals are used for the averaging operation and for correlation on reception. On transmission, differential phase modulation and DS-SS operations are performed on the signals. Filtering is performed on reception using a filter adapted to the transmission sequence.
