PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the efficiency of water purifying treatment by effectively utilizing the washing waste water from water purifying treatment equipment such as a sand filtering basin or an activated carbon adsorption basin. SOLUTION: In a method for treating washing waste water discharged from water purifying treatment equipment during a water purifying treatment process purifying raw water by water purifying treatment equipment such as a sand filtering basin 2 or an activated carbon adsorption basin 3 to be stored in a sewage basin 4, supernatant water of the sewage basin 4 is subjected to sedimentation and separation treatment in a washing waste water conditioning basin 5 and the supernatant water flowing in from the washing waste water conditioning basin 5 is subjected to memberane filtering treatment by a membrane treatment tank 6 equipped with a membrane module 7 to be refluxed to the sand filtering basin 2 as membrane treated water M.
