PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the fitness of a stem and a bone and to prevent the elution of metal ions, etc., by coating the entire surface of a stem body formed with a rough skin surface on the surface in contact with the bone of the intertrochanter section with a calcium phosphate material. SOLUTION: The stem is constituted by forming the rough skin surface in the intertrochanter section 5 corresponding to the intertrochanter part of the bone B on the surface of the stem body 4 by using a titanium wire for a thermal spraying material and executing arc thermal spraying in inert gaseous flow to weld the section with titanium. The calcium phosphate material 7, such as hydroxyapatite or calcium phosphate, is deposited over the entire surface of such stem body 4. The neogenesis, propagation and advance of the bone are derived by such constitution without using osteocement. The stem of the artificial femur joint and the bone are thus closely fitted and the elution, etc., of the metal ions are prevented. |
