COSMETIC COMPOSITIONS

A cosmetic composition is disclosed, comprising: (a) a liquid polyol carboxylic acid ester having a polyol moiety and at least 4 carboxylic acid moieties, wherein the polyol moiety is selected from sugars and sugar alcohols containing from about 4 to about 8 hydroxyl groups, and wherein each carboxylic acid moiety has from about 8 to about 22 carbon atoms, and wherein said liquid polyol carboxylic acid ester has a complete melting point of less than about 30 DEG C; (b) an emollient material selected from compounds having formula (I) wherein R<1> is selected from H or CH3, R<2>, R<3> and R<4> are independently selected from C1-C20 straight chain or branched chain alkyl, and x is an integer of from 1-20, and compounds having formula (II) wherein R5 is selected from optionally hydroxy or C1-C4 alkyl substituted benzyl and R6 is selected from C1-C20 branched or straight chain alkyl; and mixtures thereof; and (c) an ascorbic acid or derivatives thereof.
