Cover batten for ceiling covering

The cover batten has a 45 deg mitring at both ends and a longitudinally running horizontal groove of rectangular cross-section. The horizontal groove blends upwards into a side-plate (1) formed parallel to a room ceiling (7) and downwards into the horizontal surface of a profile which has the shape of an ornamental component - preferably a hollow moulding. The width of the batten is 3-5 mm thicker than a ceiling cladding element to be fitted by 3-5 mm. The batten can be composed of two separate strips, where the lower profile forming the ornamental component is divided from the side-plate along a line running at the same level as the lower side of the groove.
