Fractal image coding method

The method involves performing a fractal image coding for a series of images only within the images, and only for base images contained in the image sequence, during selected time intervals. For the intermediate images, an identical range and domain block (D0) partitioning is performed, as for the base images. The domain block for each range block (R1), within an intermediate image, is sought. This is detected as having the same position in the preceding image for the range block. If this domain block is located, its displacement vector, with respect to the domain block detected as the most similar in the preceding block, is transferred instead of the address and potentially the transformation function.
