METHOD FOR REPAIRING METALLIC ALLOY MEMBER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently repair a wide crack in a metallic alloy member. SOLUTION: In a method for repairing a metallic alloy member having a wide crack whose maximum width is larger than 0.010 inch (2.5×10<-4> m), a first metallic filler 10 substantially fills the crack. The composition of the first metallic filler 10 substantially agrees with that of the metallic alloy member. A second metallic filler 12 is executed on the first metallic filler 10. The second metallic filler 12 contains, by weight, about 40% metallic filler whose composition substantially agrees with that of the metallic alloy member, and about 100-60% metallic filler containing the main metal similar to that in the composition of the metallic alloy member and the melting point lowering agent of substantially more quantity than that of the metallic alloy member. The metallic alloy member is heat treated to perform the repair thorough the isothermal solidification.
