Radio communication equipment used in the receiving section of the base station of a CDMA system, which is provided with a reception antenna, radio section, and demodulators prepared by the number of users and can handle diffusion codes having a plurality of diffusion coefficients. The equipment is provided with an algorithm diversity controller and a selector, and gives the information on the diffusion coefficient of the diffusion code used by a user, etc., to the algorithm diversity controller. The algorithm diversity controller outputs commands to demodulators prepared by the number of users and the selector and, when a signal using a diffusion code having a low spread-spectrum factor, namely, the signal of a user transmitting a signal having a high symbol rate is received, performs demodulation with a different receiving system or different parameter so as to select the signal having the highest post-demodulation quality.
