摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle steering wheel angel neutral point detector which can always detect an accurate and stable neutral point. SOLUTION: A difference between right and left wheel speeds (VL-VR) is computed on information VL from a left wheel speed detecting means and information VR from a right wheel speed detecting means. (S14). In the case where the wheel speed difference is less than the first fixed value K(VS), and car speed VS is more than the second fixed value VS1, and a steering wheel angleθH is kept for a fixed term (Tn), a vehicle is judged to be in a straight running state. (S16, S20, S22). Next, the detected frequency distribution of the holding of a steering wheel angleθin the said straight running state is computed to compute the gravity center value of the detected frequency distribution, and the steering wheel angelθoffset corresponding to the gravity center value is presumed to be the neutral point of the steering wheel angle. (S30).
