The distancing stop or holder (3) is used where an inner pipe (2) is centred inside an outer pipe (1). There is a sleeve (4) which surrounds the inner pipe and has first and second axially extending fins (9,9') which project at right-angles to the sleeve and are spaced 120 degrees apart. The fins are of the right length to keep the inner pipe centred in the outer pipe. There is a third stop consisting of a U-shaped outward fold (5) in the sleeve. A blind rivet (7) passes through the bottom of the U-shape and accommodates a setting or adjustment screw (8).
