PURPOSE:To economically obtain a roll of superior rolling effect by splitting a sleeve to both end sleeves having tapered roll surfaces and a central sleeve located therebetween in its longitudinal direction. CONSTITUTION:A roll barrel part for rolling is formed to a separate body as a sleeve 21 provided with a roll surface 19a at the center thereof and tapered roll surfaces 19b, 19b to be formed at both ends. This sleeve 21 is split in its longitudinal direction to the three; both end sleeves 28, 29 having tapered roll surfaces 19b, 19b at both ends, and a central sleeve 30 located between both sleeves 28, 29 and having a roll surface 19a. These sleeves 28, 29, 30 are fixed onto a roll shaft 20 into one body by shrinkage fitting or other fixing means, and the sleeves 28, 29, 30 are juxtaposed without any space. Both of both end sleeves 28, 29 and the central sleeve 30 are manufactured of mutually dissimilar materials. |
