The invention concerns a method for controlling the displacement of a cabin along a cableway line, such that the trajectory followed by the cabin is more constant than that defined by the carrier cable, for reducing the vertical accelerations felt by the passengers being transported, and the devices for implementing it. These devices comprise in particular: a pole (8) of variable length by which the cabin (24) is hinged to its running carriage (1), consisting of an upper part (9) and a lower part (10) mobile with respect to each other; a cable (14) taut between the ends of the line section for varying by a set of pulleys the relative position of these two parts and therefore the length of the pole according to a predetermined programme. The invention is particularly applicable to a public transport system in urban or suburban environment. |
