The invention proposes a launder-type air bag housing to be adapted to an air bag gas generator for front seat passenger protection in a motor vehicle, the housing having a constant U-shaped transversal section, over its length and lateral flat walls on its ends, characterized in that it has two halves protections of a substantially mirror image configuration made by pouring in a mold, with lateral walls halves integrally joined and by means to join two half protections. Manufacturing method which is going to be applied according to the invention, allows launder-type housing flexible adaptation both to local space requirements and functional requirements. Housing is specially light and can be made at low cost.
