The luminaire for line-illumination has a light carrier (1) having means (11) to carry an electric lamp, a trunk shaped carrier (2) to which the light carrier (1) can be mounted, and a reflector (3) for beaming the light generated by a lamp. The reflector (3) has a first (35) and a second end (36), and a coupling member (4) exclusively at its first end (35). The coupling member (4) is fastened to the first end (35) and able to overlap the side faces (33) of the reflector of a neighbouring luminaire.
