PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a detecting device, with which no installation, imperfect installation or incorrect installation of printing constituting material containers can be estimated through no establishment of an optical connection by a method wherein the optical contact is made between the containers and a printing equipment. SOLUTION: A detecting device used in a printing equipment for determining whether one and more printing constituting material containers 202, 204, 206 and 208 are installed in the printing equipment or not is equipped with at least one printing constituting material container for storing a printing constituting material, a light source 200 for emitting light signals, a photosensor 212 for detecting the light signals 210 sent from the light source under the state being bonded with the light source and an optical waveguide 214, which is so designed as for the light signals to transmit from the light source to the photosensor. Only when the photosensor detects the light signal sent from the light source, printing is executed with the printing equipment. |
