PIPE FOR PASSING OPTICAL FIBER AND LEAD-IN WIRE FOR ELECTRIC POWER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a pipe which prevents the irregular twisting of a coated optical fiber ribbon within this pipe by providing the pipe with an internal space of a flat sectional shape which is smaller in the minor axis of the internal space than the major axis of the coated optical fiber ribbon passed therein. SOLUTION: The internal space 2 formed in a pipe body 1 is formed to have a flat sectional shape which is smaller in its minor axis B than the major axis of the coated optical fiber ribbon 3 passed therein. When the coated optical fiber ribbon 3 is passed into the internal space 2 having such flat sectional shape, the coated optical fiber ribbon 3 is passed along the flat shape of the internal space 2 and the irregular twisting of the coated optical fiber ribbon 3 in the internal space 2 does not arise anymore. The increase in the transmission loss based thereon is eliminated. In the case of a leading-in wire for electric power, the internal space for passing the optical fiber is formed within an insulation covering layer disposed on a conductor and this internal space is formed to the flat sectional shape in the same manner.
