PURPOSE:To prevent the cracking of the edges of a thin film like metal or alloy substrate an the exfoliation of a photosensitive layer by coating one edge of an endless belt-shaped electrophotographic sensitive body obtd. by forming the photosensitive layer on the substrate with a continuous flexible protective member. CONSTITUTION:At least one edge of an endless belt-shaped electrophotographic sensitive body obtd. by forming a photosensitive layer 2 on a thin film like metal or alloy substrate 1 is coated with a continuous flexible member 3a, 3b or 3c. The substrate 1 is made of Ni, Co, copper, iron, beryllium bronze, etc., an ordinary photosensitive layer is used as the layer 2 and the member 3a is made of urethane rubber, polyester, PE, etc. The member 3b consists of rear and front side coating members 31, 32 and is made of the same material as the member 3a. The member 3c is formed by dip coating with a flexible material enabling dip coating. The cracking of the edges of the substrate and the exfoliation of the photosensitive layer due to repeated use over a long period of time are prevented. |
