PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a superconductive single crystal of RE123 structure which can grow fast and has excellent superconductive properties and provide a growing process therefor. SOLUTION: Y211, Small, Ba-Cu-0 powder are charged in a crucible by 21g, 14g and 300g, respectively and the mixture is molten with heat. At this time, the temperature at the surface of the liquid phase is kept at about 1,000-1,020 deg.C and the temperature ingredient is controlled to about 2-10 deg.C between the bottom of the crucible and the liquid phase surface. Then, the seed crystal 3 at the top end of the pulling up shaft 2 is brought into contact with the surface of the melt and pulled up in the air atmosphere at a rate of 0.1mm/hr, as the shaft is rotated. Thus, peritectic coagulation reaction starts and the objective superconductive single crystal 6 of Y1-x Ba2 Cu3 O7-δgrows on the seed crystal 3.
