摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plastic optical material having the ability to absorb rays in a specified wavelength region at high efficiency, being capable of providing desired optical characteristics such as nonglaring properties and having low water absorptivity and to provide a process for producing the same. SOLUTION: This material is prepared by incorporating phospho groups, amido groups and a metallic ion component comprising rare earth metal ions in an acrylic resin. It is desirable that the phospho groups and the amido groups are present therein in the form chemically combined with the structure of the polymer constituting the acrylic resin. It is desirable that the polymer constituting the acrylic resin is a copolymer obtained by copolymerizing a phospho- containing monomer represented by formula I with a monomer copolymerizable therewith. Formula I: PO(OH)n R33-n (wherein R is a polymerizable functional group represented by formula II; and n is 1 or 2). Formula II: CH2 =CXCOO(C2 H4 O)m - (wherein X is hydrogen or methyl; and m is an integer of 0-5).
