<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a printer for printing at a high speed by reducing a cost of an ink ribbon. SOLUTION: The printer comprises a finishing end detecting sensor 17 for detecting a finishing end of a print sheet 11, a platen roller 18 for conveying the sheet 11, a starting end detecting sensor 21 for detecting a starting end of the roller 18, a heating resistor 25 provided above the roller 18 to generate heat of a heating value responsive to a pulse width of a pulse voltage to be supplied, an ink ribbon 1 repeatedly coated with yellow ink, a CPU for controlling respective units, and a pulse voltage generator for outputting a pulse voltage having a pulse width without printing of the degree of sublimating no ink to the resistor 25 when print data does not instruct printing and a pulse voltage having a printing pulse width of the degree of sublimating the ink to the resistor 25 when instructing printing.</p> |
