An image-receiving sheet including a substrate sheet, an image-receiving layer and, as a detection mark, an opaque porous resin layer that becomes transparent upon heating, the opaque porous resin layer being formed by coating a resin varnish including a resin, a good solvent having a relatively low boiling point and a poor solvent having a relatively high boiling point on the image-receiving sheet and drying the resultant coating. Also disclosed is an image-receiving sheet including a substrate sheet and an image-receiving layer, the image-receiving layer being composed mainly of a polyester resin including an acid moiety and a diol moiety of a modified bisphenol A represented by the following general formula (I): <IMAGE> (I) wherein R represents an ethylene or propylene group and x and y are each an integer of 1 to 5, provided that the average of each of x and y is 1 to 3.
