The sheet handler operates on a stack of folded sheets using two grip ends (20) which move in a fixed track (W) and which are positioned diametrically opposite to each other. The pick-off mechanism is driven with an alternating action so that each pick-up operates alternately with a rapid cycle to move the folded sheets in two directions. A servo motor drives the handler and guide cams/tracks position the handler grips. The fixed track has a straight, middle section (W') which represents the pick-off drive.
