摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily recognize the position and the posture of an object by calculating the correlation degree of contour data obtained by image pickup and standard contour data while successively dislocating their angles so as to decide the collating relation between the object and a standard object. SOLUTION: The collating relation between the object and the standard object is decided by calculating the correlation degree of contour data obtained by coordinating a distance to the contour of a two-dimensional image obtained by picking up the image of the object to a reference point with an angle with the reference point in a center and standard contour data obtained by coordinating a distance to the reference point of the contour of the two-dimensional image of the standard object with an angle with the reference point in a center while successively dislocating their angles. Then the position and the posture of the object are recognized by the result. This device is provided with a standard contour data storage area 161 storing standard contour data. The processing is executed according to contour data obtained from the data and an picked-up image stored in an image memory 15.
