The telescopic type coupling, used to adjust the position and secure an inner rigid rod (5) housed inside an outer tube (3) which can be moved relative to the rigid rod, comprises a sleeve clamp (6) made from wire mesh and mounted on the rigid rod. There is a device for supporting the outer tube on the sleeve clamp and a operating ring (4). The sleeve clamp is shorter in length than the rigid rod and the operating ring, which engages at least one outer end of the clamp sleeve, exerts an axial dis-engaging force directed toward the outer end of the sleeve clamp.
