PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the processing of a pseudo halftone display in a plasma display panel(PDP), or the like to be proper processing in accordance with the content of a video picture. SOLUTION: Pixel data of a group consisting of 9 pixel data of center data and eight pixel data adjacent to the center pixel data are obtained for every video picture of R, G, B by comparison pixcel data generating mean composed of a first delay circuits 1a to a fourth delay circuit 1d. Then, level differences in among data are obtained based on the center pixel data. Whether the subtracted data are equal to or smaller than the reference value or not is judged by being compared with the reference value. This judgement is performed with respect to red, green and blue. Next, whether all judged data are equal to or smaller than the reference value or not is judged by a total judging part 4 based on the decided data of R, G, B. Then, only when all are judged to be equal to or smaller than the reference value in the judgment, the total judging part 4 controls a pseudo halftone processing part 5 so as to perform a pseudo halftone processing to input video data. |
