PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve the low floating of a head and to improve recording density by forming many circular raised part by laser beam texturing in the zone to be the CSS zone of a medium substrate. SOLUTION: The height H of the circular raised part of the bowl part 21 formed on a mechanical texture 31 is set to become higher by 1-5μm than the maximum height of the projection of the mechanical texture 31 formed in the CSS zone 2 of a magnetic recording medium. The collision between the head and projection is prevented by forming the projection of the mechanical texture 31 bower than the raised part 22. Also, the height of the raised part 22 is root only higher than the projection but also the difference of these heights is reduced so as to be 1-5μm to lower the height of the raided part 22 as much as possible, whereby, the low floating of the head is achieved.
