PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To forma lump of paste containing kneaded powdery components such as a hamburger. SOLUTION: A molding apparatus includes a housing 13 enclosing a chamber 18 which is internally divided into several sections and extends to the outside of the housing 13. The housing 13 is provided with a movable mold plate 19. The movable mold plate 19, which is formed corresponding to the chamber 18 and has at least one cavity 21, is inserted in the chamber 18 with a very small clearance between itself and the chamber internal wall. The housing 13 has an opening 20 facing towards the chamber 18 for supplying a powdery material. The cavity 21 is communicated with the opening 20 at a position where the movable mold plate 19 has just slided into the housing 13. On the other hand, the cavity 21 is located on the outside of the housing 13 at a position where the mold plate 19 has just slidden out of the housing 13. In an area surrounding the powder supplying opening 20, one chamber internal wall is formed with a recess portion receiving a pressure acting member. Since the pressure acting member has a good sealing effect and is excellent in cutting operation, it may effectively support the movable mold plate 19 with a compressive stress. |
