<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bat which easily develops a flying range suitable for sluggers in a base ball bat made of aluminum with a specified weight by setting a bending rigidity value within a specified range so that a ball can be easily put on the bat with a larger deflection thereof to obtain a larger impulse. SOLUTION: In a base ball bat 1 made of aluminum with the weight exceeding 850g, a bending rigidity of the bat 1 is set 20-26kgf/1mm when a lateral load is applied at a point 460mm from the grip end 2 thereof in a state where it is simply supported at a point 60mm from the grip end 2 and at a point 720mm therefrom. In this case, when the bending rigidity value exceeds 26kgf/1 mm, the bending rigidity value grows to the same as that of the conventional type so that no sufficient deflection can be obtained during the hitting of a ball and the bat fails to put the ball on the bat. Hence, the bat thus obtained is not sufficient for sluggers. When the rigidity value is smaller than 20kgf/1mm, no sufficient strength can not be obtained.</p> |
