A connector for supporting and providing mechanical assistance to vertebrae consists of at least one fixing with a ball joint (20) and an adjoining compressible body (9), held in place between two end members (3). At least one of the end members is in the shape of a cup, and the end members at opposite ends of a compressible element are held together by a connector. In a variant of the design one of the end members can have a cup at one end and a bellows at the other, with a compression chamber containing a piston and a bayonet locking joint. |
