The standpipe (11) contains a length-adjusting ram supported in the axial direction by a bottom plate (15). The latter is held between the inwards-rolled edge (31) and a face above it on the inside wall (23) of the standpipe. The edge (41) is rolled inwards so that its end face (21) is towards the inside wall, while the bottom plate (15) rests on the outside surface of the standpipe bottom end (31). The end face can bear against the inside wall, and the width (B) of the edge can be greater than its height. The edge thickness can be reduced from the inside, so as to form a step (33) against which the bottom plate bears.
