<p>A dental post is provided having an upper portion (12) and a lower portion (16). The lower portion (16) has cylindrical sections (27-32) of differing diameters. Grooves (19, 22) formed on the section walls form cutting surfaces on the post and serve as vents for cement introduced into a canal of a tooth.
