THERMAL HEAD, MANUFACTURE THEREOF AND THERMAL PRINTER EMPLOYING IT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a high print quality by defining the position of a heating element in a glaze layer strictly for the outline dimensions thereof. SOLUTION: Deviation of the top line of a planar substrate 31 is checked by means of aθtable 81 and a viewer 82. When the deviation of the top line is within a preset distance between electrode layers, the planar substrate 31 is accepted and employed in the assembling. A mask for forming the electrode layer is then positioned such that the center line thereof matches with a maximum load line along the actual top line of the glaze layer in the planar substrate 31 thus forming an electrode layer. A paper is printed, at first, with a head where the center line between electrode layers is located within one half of the distance between electrode layers for the maximum load line and subsequently printed with heads where the center line between electrode layers is located within one half of the distance between electrode layers for the maximum load line.
