PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the strength of a nonoriented silicon steel sheet without deteriorating its magnetic properties. SOLUTION: This nonoriented silicon steel sheet has a compsn. contg. <=0.01% C, 0.05 to 3.2% Si, <=1.0% Mn, <=0.01% S, 0.01 to 2.0% Sol.Al, 0.005 to 0.1% P, <=0.05% Ti, 0.04 to 1.5% V, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities. By regulating the amounts of Ti and V which have been regarded as forming carbon nitride to deteriorate its magnetic properties heterofore to be added to the same ranges, the size of the crystal grains of the carbon nitride is controlled to balance the magnetic properties with strength, by which its strength is increased without deteriorating the magnetic properties. |
