FIELD: tube furnaces for catalytic splitting of hydrocarbons in production of synthesis gas. SUBSTANCE: heater tube furnace has many tunes in furnace chamber and containing catalyst. Produced in tubes is synthesis gas containing, first of all, hydrogen, carbon monoxide and dioxide. There is hazard of formation of carbide (metal dusty corrosion) on external sides of ends of tube throats. To prevent corrosion supplied to external section of ends of tube throats is gas or vapor protective medium which contains no carbon monoxide. EFFECT: improved design. 3 cl, 2 dwgn
