DEVICE FOR GROWTH INHIBITION OF UNDESIRABLE PLANTS

The present invention pertains to the field of soil processing and relates to a device for inhibiting the growth of undesirable plants and more particularly to devices for eradicating undesirable plants such as weeds. This device comprises a plate (1) of a light-tight material having a central opening (2) and a given inclination from the outer perimeter toward its centre. The plate comprises one or more breakable stripes (6) for enlarging the central opening, as well as one or more grooves extending from said central opening to the outer perimeter. The plate is further fitted with a shoulder (7) extending along the outer perimeter on its convex side. The plate of the present invention may be mounted above the root system of a cultivated plant regardless of the size of the latter and without being forced through the crown of said plant. This plate may also be used for controlling the humidity of the upper layer of the soil, for stabilising its thermal mode and for increasing the flow efficiency of biochemicals into the latter.
