PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify an extra length housing treatment by forming extra length housing cases to thin and long sleeve shapes having openings at one ends in a longitudinal direction, forming the internal spaces thereof as the extra length housing spaces of optical fibers and setting the transverse width of the internal spaces larger than twice the min. radius of curvature of the optical fibers. SOLUTION: The extra length housing cases 80 disposed in a multiplex form on both sides of a connector housing unit 70 are formed to the thin and slender shapes having the openings 81 at one ends in the longitudinal direction. The sections have rectangular shapes and the bottom ends thereof are closed. The cases 80 stand in the posture tilting forward by directing the openings 81 upward and are disposed in multiplex in the state of laminating the cases in thickness directions. The internal spaces of such extra length housing cases 80 are set at the size larger than double the min. radius of curvature of the coated optical fibers and the lengths thereof are set at the sizes at which the extra lengths necessary for connection may be housed. The extra lengths of the optical fibers 106, 107 of the respective stages are dropped in the state of curving the extra lengths to a U shape into the extra length housing cases 80 and are held at the prescribed curvature in the cases 80. |
