PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compensate transient change of an engine in a good condition by finding out a control parameter from a detected operating condition, inputting it to a controller of a recurrent type, and compensation transient change of an internal combustion engine or a dynamic change. SOLUTION: When a feed back control range is judged, a detecting air-fuel ratio KACT (K) and a target air-fuel ratio KCMD are inputted to a PID controller, a feed back correction coefficient KLAF is calculated, and it is corrected by multiplication of a requirement fuel rate Tcyl (k). Elements b0 , r1 , r2 , s0 of an adaptive parameterθhat are retrieved from a map which is set beforehand by every operating ranges divided according to engine speed, an engine load, and the like, and a plant input u (k) (a feed fuel ratio) is calculated so as to equalize a target value Tcyl (k) and a detecting value Gfuel (k) to each other, following with the controller of a recurrent type by an adaptive parameterθhat which is found out. Various kinds of correction coefficient which is carried out by the additional type of atmospheric pressure correction and the like is added to a calculated value, and it is set as an output fuel rate.
