Polymerisable poly:amide derivatives containing double bonds

A base polymer (I) derivatised with polymerisable double bonds is obtained by reaction of the amino groups of a polyamide (II) with an amino-reactive compound (III) containing polymerisable double bonds or by reaction of the carboxyl groups of (II) with a carboxyl group reactive compound (IV) containing polymerisable double bonds. (III) does not contain an oxirane ring if (I) is not first reacted with a diamine compound. Also claimed are: (i) a polymer modified (I) obtained by polymerisation of monomers (V) in the presence of (I); and (ii) an affinity support , an immobilised enzyme and formed article prepared from a polymer modified (I).
