The present invention relates to the field of magnetic recording and more precisely to compact micro-cassettes. This invention may be used to improve the technical features and appearance of the cassette, and to obtain the parameters required for higher precision in maintaining the position of tape reels within the body of said cassette, especially concerning the height and perpendicularity of the reel axis relative to the plane of the cassette covers. This invention may also be used to increase the winding precision of the tape onto the reel, and to optimise and stabilise the friction (braking) forces between the reel and the spacers as well as the tension of the tape. This invention may also be used to lower the upper frequency of the spectrum of periodic forces applied onto the tape reel when it is rotated during recording or playback. To this end, the magnetic tape cassette of the present invention comprises two hubs mounted on the same plane for supporting the magnetic tape reels. The cassette also includes covers with centering apertures as well as resilient spacers located between said covers and the hubs supporting the tape reels. More precisely, the curves of the spacers join by pairs and cross the corresponding centering apertures on a same plane. The curves of the spacers may also be at an angle between 30 and 60 DEG relative to the line connecting the centres of the centering apertures. The curves of the shapers may also be formed by shaping a spacer planar preform having two dihedral angles with their side edges located on the same side relative to their common axis. |
