发明名称 LIFELINE HEALTH SYSTEM
摘要
In traditional exercise equipment the user applies force to the body limbs in or der to extend the muscle ligaments. This type of equipment places too much strain on injured m uscles to be useful to an injured person. Lifeline is a unique rehabilitation/exercise machine and procedure that has been developed with an overhead pull to facilitate whole body movements which encourages the ge ntle stretching of large muscle groups. This equipment is combined with a number of u nique body movements and postures which fosters increased muscle strength and tone wit hout strenuous effort or the isolation of specific muscle groups. Lifeline achieves its objectives through the use of a holding bar that is attach ed to a system of pulleys counterbalanced by a series of adjustable weights. The holding bar is designed to position the body in the correct posture, thus emphasizing the torso's major interaction with the rest of the body (no isolation moves). Located at the base of the unit is a system of rollers designed to move forward and backward with movement of the feet. As t he exerciser pulls downward on the bar the forward and backward movement of the leg s is commissioned at the same time. Located at the end of the pulley system and behind the main frame is a series of adjustable weights. These weights are connected to a spring designed to compensate for the sudden pull of the bar thus removing any sudden jerking of the muscle movement. Tension of the system can be adjusted by changing the weight. Once the correct weight has been selected the user then commences exercise by pulling down on the overhead bar at the same time undertaking a forward and backward movement of the legs. After each six second isometric contraction of the muscles, the process is repea ted as the user moves from left to right leg shifting ones body weight while pulling on the overhead bar. While exercising the weights move up and down but they are not allowed to f all to the ground. There is a constant upward pull exerted on the body by the weights that acts as a form of traction on the spine and also as a reduction in strain on the person's joints. The weights counteract the person's natural body weight on their joints.
