PURPOSE:To certainly match a reproduced color, by converting the color signal of the first system according to the corresponding relation of data for allowing a measured value to correspond in each color space to set the color reproduced by the second system to a required color. CONSTITUTION:In forming a color image from a color signal of digital data, a large number of color patches capable of expressing the respective color reproducing regions of two kinds of different color reproducing systems over the whole are prepared so as to correspond to the data of the respective systems. Each of the color patches is measured by a substantially common measuring device (e.g., colorimeter or densitometer) to form the measured value in a color space at every system. The corresponding relation of data for allowing the measured value to correspond in each color space is calculated and the color signal of the first system is converted on the basis of said corresponding relation to perform color correction and the color reproduced by the second system is set to a required color. By this method, since the difference in color reproduction by the different systems is corrected over the whole of the color space, the color reproduced by the second system can be set to the required color. |
