摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively cool the rear surfaces of pads over a wide range by ejecting cooling gas from a slot which is opened in the inner circumferential surface of a bearing housing and extended in a circumferential direction toward the rear surfaces of the pads. SOLUTION: Annular slots 7 extended over the whole circumference of a bearing housing 1 are opened in the inner circumferential surface of the bearing housing 1, arranged in plural numbers having an interval in an axial direction, and respectively directed to pads 3. Cooling gas is supplied from a plurality of air supplying holes 6 arranged having equal intervals in a circumferential direction to these slots 7 through an annular void 8. Therefore, when a turbo machine is operated, a rotary shaft 4 is rotated in an arrow direction, and also cooling gas is supplied from the air supplying holes 6. Hereupon, cooling gas is ejected from the slots 7 through the annular space 8 and collided with the rear surfaces of the pads 3 so as to be branched, and at the same time, the direction of cooling gas is changed so that the cooling gas is led to flow into an axial direction along the rear surfaces of the pads 3, thus the pad 3 can be approximately uniformly cooled by this process.
