The system uses the standard radiators that are already present within the house. The spaces between the radiator ribs are filled with a material that has a heat storage capacity, e.g. high alumina fire-clay. The mass of the clay is able to store enough heat to keep the room the radiator is situated in warm for a day. The radiators are also fitted with a heat insulating base plate. The radiator may then be fitted with a masonry cladding from non-reinforced concrete or marble to improve the aesthetic appearance of the unit.
