The mast (1) is mounted on a swivelling bearing (2) on top of a carriage with wheels (3). There is a ballast weight (4) mounted under the floor of the carriage. The mast is made of smooth-surfaced tubes, sliding coaxially. The system for extending the mast is hidden inside it and the tubes may form a decorative and protective outer covering for a structural inner mast. The bearing for the mast is firmly fixed on the floor of the carriage onto which the working platform may be lowered when the mast is folded up to its shortest length. There is a linkage at the top of the mast which allows the working platform to be swung down, out to the side or up.
