PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image of high image quality at a low cost and with a small sized device by supplying voltages from a single high voltage power source to an electrifying charger, developing unit, and transfer charger. SOLUTION: When image formation starts, a drive motor, an eraser, and a QL 20 are turned on, then the high voltage power source 15 is turned on. The instant the high voltage power source 15 is turned on, the charger 12, developing unit 14, and transfer charger 16 are turned on. At the same time that the eraser 13 is turned off, image exposure by an exposure means is turned on, and at the same time the image exposure by the exposure means is turned off, the eraser 13 is turned on. Thereafter, the high voltage power source 15 is turned off, and the charger 12, developing unit 14, and transfer charger 16 are also turned off. Thus, because the voltages are supplied from the single high voltage power source 15 to the charger 12, developing unit 14, and transfer charger 16, the number of high voltage power sources 15 can be reduced, and the capacity of the machine can be reduced by amounts of spaces they occupy, contributing to the reductions in size, weight, and cost. |
