PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a path frog being interrupted resulting from mis-connection to an output terminal in use by confirming in advance it that there is no logical discrepancy in connection information of a multi-stage switch stored in advance in a memory section prior to connection of the path. SOLUTION: Before a connection instruction is sent to each single switch, input output terminal numbers of each switch in a memory section 41 are read for each connection path. Then whether or not an input terminal X corresponds to an input terminal a of a switch 1K and whether or not an output terminal Y corresponds to an output terminalβof a switch 3K are checked. Furthermore, whether or not an output terminal (a) of the switch 1K and an input terminal (k) of a switch group 2A are contained within a range is checked. Moreover, whether or not the connection between output terminals 12Ka, 22Ah and input terminals 21Ak, 31Ha, an output terminal (h) of the switch group 2A and the input terminal (a) of the switch 3H are contained within a range are checked. Similarly connection information in the switch group 2A is checked. Thus, interruption of the connection path set already is prevented.
