<p>The present invention provides methods for treating cancer, particularly malignant tumors, with thyroxine analogues having no significant hormonal activity. A thyroxine analogue is administered to an afflicted mammal in an amount effective to cause depression or regression of malignant tumor growth or to treat cancer. Particularly preferred thyroxine analogues are those capable of causing about 35 percent or more inhibition of initial velocity of microtubule protein assembly in vitro.</p> |
