PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a new compound AM6898, capable of manifesting excellent suppressing actions on the production of an IgE antibody and effective against atopic bronchial asthma, atopic dermatitis, allergic rhinitis, pollenosis, etc. SOLUTION: This compound is selected from the group consisting of a compound AM6898A of formula I, a compound AM6898B of formula II, a compound AM6898C of formula III and a compound AM6898D of formula IV. The compounds of formulas I to IV are collected from a cultured solution of a Pseudallescheria ellipsoideum M6898 strain (FERM BP-5543) belonging to the Pseudallescheria sp. The new compound is useful as an immunosuppressive agent, a suppressant for the production of an IgE and a preventing and therapeutic agent for immunopathies based on abnormal production of the IgE. |
