<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the method and device generating chrominance shape information able to express effectively an object in a video object plane. SOLUTION: The device generating chrominance shape information based on luminance shape information of a matrix shape is provided, each element in the matrix is expressed in either of two different logic levels, each represents respectively the outside and the inside of an object in tone video object plane, and includes a section dividing the luminance shape information into a plurality of sample blocks each including 2×2 elements, a chrominance component decision section to obtain the chrominance component based on all the logic levels in each sample block and a chrominance shape information generating section to generate the chrominance shape information of the matrix shape based on the chrominance component with respect to all the sample blocks.</p> |
