Bogie for rail vehicle

The bogie is esp. for a tram with a very low floor level. Each of the wheels (4-7) is mounted on its own stub axle in its own bearing (8) on the bogie frame and can rotate independently unless otherwise connected. The wheels (6,7) at one end of the bogie have a geared (14) drive from a common shaft (15) driven by a single motor and at a lower level than the centrelines of the wheels. There are springs or stops on the suspension for the driven wheels. The wheel bearings (8) are mounted on levers supported at their outer ends by springs (13) and pivoted (11) at their inner ends to crossbeams (12) at a lower level than the centres of the wheels. The inner ends of the levers are connected together by torsion rods (9,10) running parallel to the transverse beams.
